Connecticut Concert Ballet Presents Dynamic Directions 2013, Saturday Evening

Connecticut Concert Ballet returns its spring production, Dynamic Directions to Windsor after a three year hiatus for repairs to the auditorium.

Performances will be held at Windsor High School, 50 Sage Park

Road, on Saturday, May 18 (7 p.m.) and Sunday, May 19 (2 p.m.).

This year's performance will feature:

An excerpt from the classical ballet Raymonda, a beautiful dream sequence featuring lovely music by Alexander Glazunov and challenging and lively choreography.  

CCB's modern teacher Lorelei Chang's creative take on the children's classic book Where the Wild Things Are.  Children and adults alike will enjoy experiencing Max's adventures with all the wild things.

A collaboration of ballet and jazz in a new piece entitled From Broadway to Ballet featuring your favorite Broadway tunes brought to life on stage.

A moving tribute to Newtown created by Artistic Directors Wendy Fish-Lawrence and David Lawrence titled A Promise.

Graduation Ball, a hilarious take on a ball that takes place at a girls' finishing school when cadets from the local military school are invited to attend.  Flirtations, exuberant dances and a secret romance ensue.


Connecticut Concert Ballet is a semi-professional 501(c)(3) classical

ballet school and performing arts organization with studios in Manchester and Windsor, Connecticut and has 300 students from over 40 towns in the Greater Hartford, northern and eastern areas of the state. CCB brings fully staged ballet and dance productions to audiences from all over Connecticut twice a year including the Nutcracker in December and Dynamic Directions in May.

CCB has been awarded the 2013 “Best of Hartford” Award for dance instruction from Hartford Magazine.
