Doug Hardy is a new media entrepreneur and freelance journalist who left The Journal Inquirer in 2011 after 14 years as a reporter and editor.

With his wife, Christine Stuart, Hardy lives in Windsor and is part owner of  <strong>CTNewsJunkie.com</strong>, which is an independent news website covering Connecticut politics, government, and healthcare. In 2011, Hardy and another partner launched the <strong>Independent Media Network</strong>, which is a new media cooperative comprised of independent, Connecticut-based news sites and blogs with a goal of helping its members reach sustainability. Hardy also operates <strong>CTPhotoJunkie.com</strong> and recently launched <strong>CTTechJunkie.com</strong>.

Hardy has worked as a reporter and editor at several newspapers, including full-time stints at The Journal Inquirer, The Register Citizen, The Bristol Press, The Herald-Press Sunday edition, and The Durango Herald in Colorado. He also has worked part-time at, or has had worked published on a freelance basis by, the Hartford Courant, the Meriden Record-Journal, the Willimantic Chronicle, and others. From 2004 to 2007, Hardy was a youth business manager and journalism instructor at Our Piece of the Pie in Hartford, where he helped teens publish a quarterly print magazine called Echoes from the Streets.
