Check out what is going on in the region this weekend.

Enfield Pirate Festival
Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. - The Enfield Pirate Festival will run at the Enfield Green, 820 Enfield St. You are invited to come and enjoy a day of merriment, mirth and laughter as the days of yore are reenacted all around you. There will be music by The One Eye'd Jacks (from Clan Cu'Dubh), fan favorites  The Bawdy Buccaneers, new kids on the barge Below the Gaff, and music throughout the village by Lebaron. There will also be magic, comedy and fighting. Joining for the first time, the scourge of the seven seas himself, The Magic of Daniel GreenWolf, two bungling buccaneers, The Loose Cannons Sword fight comedy show, and everyone's favorite fools, The Pillage Idiots. Of course, what's a pirate show without muskets and cannons. Check out the live demonstrations by the crew of the Black Rose II Privateers. Tickets for The 2013 Enfield Pirate Festival are now available at http://ctfaire.com/enfield/tickets-info/. General admission (16 and up) is $10 and kids ages 7-15 are $6. Kids 6 and under are free.

Band-a-Palooza
Saturday, 1 p.m. - A record breaking number of people are expected to participate in this free DIY event. Chances are if you know or have been near an elementary, middle or high schooler, you have seen one of the hottest trends in recent years, colorful, woven stretch band bracelets. The neon, rainbow and brightly hued bracelets are made by kids out of small stretchy “rubber” bands into several patterns. On Saturday, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., local A.C. Moore specialists will have all materials on hand so anyone coming to a store can make a bracelet for FREE. In addition to the rainbow of regular stretch bands, plus neon, glow in the dark, glitter and scented,  A.C. Moore stores will have stretch band organizer cases and stretch band loom tools available for purchase. For more information and to locate the store nearest to you, visit www.acmoore.com.

Harvest Dinner and Silent Auction at Hilltop Farm
Saturday, 5 p.m. - The Friends of the Farm at Hilltop (FOFAH) is ready for the Annual Harvest Dinner and Silent Auction at Hilltop Farm in Suffield. Tickets are $60 and are available for this farm to table event. This year, a great partnership has grown between FOFAH and Joe Ravelese of the Country Diner in Enfield. Ravelese and his staff will prepare a feast for over 300 people with local produce provided by regional partner farmers and suppliers. The dinner is a buffet banquet, served under a big tent with live music of the Fast Lane Band and is a BYOB event. The silent auction always includes local goods and services, antiques, and works from local artists. There is something new each year for everyone. Join your neighbors and friends at this great evening of dinner live music and fun under a big tent. You will be supporting the restorations of the Hilltop Farmstead as an educational location. This event is the major annual fundraiser for FOFAH. All funds provide programs and continued projects for the region. For more information call 860-573-9786 or visit www.HilltopFarmSuffield.org
