Windsor Junior Women's Club Launches Signature Cocktail

"Junior Juice" is now a staple at Union Street Tavern.

On Tuesday night, the Windsor Junior Women's Club did something that has never before been done in their history. They launched a new signature cocktail at Union Street Tavern that will benefit the Windsor Fuel Bank. Called "Junior Juice," the feminine cocktail is a blend of vanilla vodka and pomegranate liqueur with a splash of pineapple juice.

The idea came from a creative group of WJWC members and quickly took form with the assistance of Kevin Farley at the Union Street Tavern.

"We are really excited to collaborate with the Union Street Tavern on our signature cocktail," said Membership Co-Chair Jennifer Booth.  "We decided to have an official cocktail just for fun, to build comaraderie," she said.

Months ago, WJSC members held a contest for the best cocktail recipe and the winning combination was selected from a fairly new member, Patty Mason. "The recipe belonged to a friend of mine," said Mason. "I think everyone will like it.  I hope it raises a lot of money for the Fuel Bank."

"One dollar from the sale of every "Junior Juice will be donated to the Windsor Fuel Bank," said Booth.

Many were trying the cocktail for the first time at its launch on Tuesday night. They described it as "fruity" and "refreshing."

The Windsor Junior Women's Club's focus in the community is always charitable.  They create themed baskets to donate at the Northwest Park Fair, donate food to families at Thanksgiving, collect stocking stuffers around Christmas time, sponsor diaper donation bins around town and of course their annual participation in the Shad Derby events.

They are always looking for more members.  For more information, go to: http://windsorjwc.wordpress.com.
