120 Hours
After 120 hours, my summer internship here at Windsor Community Television is coming to a close. Within these hours I have learned a lot and know that I will take my experience with me as I further my education and start my career.
From my time at WIN-TV, I have become much more knowledgeable of just how active the town of Windsor is. I never imagined the station would have as many regular shows as it does and was impressed at the support and dedication of its volunteers. Having such a diverse group of programs is what makes WIN-TV unique. It is important to keep an open mind when dealing with any subject, which is why I believe it is crucial to listen to as many perspectives as possible. This internship allowed me a unique perspective into how the Windsor public thinks, reacts, and stays involved. WIN-TV is a vital tool for the town to accomplish this. Without it, many people would not have had the chance to use their voice and have it heard to such a degree.
To anyone in college or of age, undergoing an internship truly is beneficial when you are looking to start a career. During my internship, there were many times that I needed to use the skills I learned in classes to complete different tasks. Getting the opportunity to put lectures into real life situations is no comparison.

Today, it is quite difficult to get internships—trust me, I know. Before WIN-TV, I had a series of rejections from different places and was growing worried quickly. This is why I would like to take the time to thank Jenny Hawran and everyone at Windsor Community Television for giving me a chance to use my skills to benefit this organization. When I go back to school, I will confidently say I had a great, beneficial first internship experience.
