WHS Students Help Fight Greater Hartford Hunger

Students have recorded 30-second PSAs to air on Connecticut Public Radio in support of Foodshare's Turkey and a Twenty campaign.

Students from Windsor High's Advanced Recording Tech program are taking the skills they've acquired in the classroom and putting them towards a good cause: helping hungry Greater Hartford residents.

The students, under the guidance of Windsor High music teacher Mick Duffek, recently recorded two 30-second public service announcements in support of Foodshare's Turkey and a Twenty campaign, which "aims to provide low income individuals with a traditional turkey dinner, as well as additional financial support for the winter months ahead," according to the Bloomfield-based organization.

"I wanted to find a way for my students to produce music for use outside the classroom, and to give back to their community as well," said Duffek.
