While the night didn't start well for either team -- both teams lost fumbles on their first plays from scrimmage -- Windsor was able to jump out to a 20-0 lead by the half.

Windsor attacked the Wethersfield secondary early on, scoring two minutes into the first quarter on an 18-yard pass from Fleeting to Tres Coyle.

By halftime, Fleeting connected on two more touchdown passes, both to junior Ryheime Moore (six receptions for 68 yards and two touchdowns), and racked up 193 yards through the air.

Defensively, Windsor dominated the line of scrimmage and spent much of the evening in the Wethersfield backfield.

The Warriors held Wethersfield to 104 total yards, and forced them to commit four turnovers on the night.

"I thought we battled offensively for what we had." said Wethersfield coach John Campanello. "Especially with a quality team like [Windsor] you can't afford to make too many mistakes.

"We needed to be perfect. We werent', but we did a fair amount of things that were good."

Though Windsor held the Eagles scoreless, and its big name players put up big numbers, Windsor coach Rob Fleeting was less than impressed with the victory, saying "We didn't play like a good team. We played like a talented team."

Windsor's talent shone bright Friday. Senior Aaron Berardino, who has been touted as one of the top receivers in the state, scored twice -- once on the ground, and once on a 10-yard pass -- and managed to rack up 176 yards from scrimmage (122 receiving and 54 rushing).

Junior receiver Ryheime Moore had a breakout night, catching two touchdown passes for 68 yards.

"They're both very explosive, very fast, very nice hands," Fleeting said of his two receivers.

"They double-covered Berardino, and we tried to do a lot of things -- move him around -- to get him away from the double coverage. People are game planning for Aaron, and Aaron is a difference maker."

The offense had plenty of bright moments Friday, but their performance left something to be desired in Fleeting's eyes.

"I was disappointed in the penalties. I was disappointed in the turnovers," he said.

Windsor was penalized thirteen times for 110 yards, including three personal fouls.

Up 20-0 at the half, Windsor's talent enabled them to put away a Wethersfield team that never overcame early missteps.

Berardino scored Windsor's final two scores. The first came in the third quarter on a 16-yard run.

The second came minutes before time expired on a 10-yard pass from Fleeting.

Fleeting completed 66 percent of his passes, throwing for 263 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Warriors (1-0) travel to Bristol Central next Friday.
