In 2012, Windsor High's Sydnee Over continued her dominance of girls track, establishing herself as the runner to beat in a couple of races, while Warrior Daniel Jamieson burst onto the regional scene on the way to individual and team championships.
The two runners' success this spring is unquestionable, and it's just gotten a little better.
Over, a junior who led the girls squad to a Class L State Championship and a number of individual first-place finishes at the New England Championships, ruled the 400-meter and 800-meter runs this year. She also anchored the fastest 4x400-meter relay team in New England.
Her performance on the track earned her All-American honors for the second year in a row.
Jamieson led a boys team that struggled to shine at times in 2011 right into the spotlight this season.
He finished first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the New England championships, and contributed to the boys' victory in the 4x100-meter relay.
