No School Monday For Madison Public Schools

"These guys are working as hard as they can, but there are still a lot of roads to clear." Other schools in Madison are closed, along with schools in surrounding towns.

Madison Public School Superintendent Thomas Scarice says there will be no school Monday, in the wake of a historic blizzard that dumped more than 30 inches of snow and ice on Madison.

"These guys are working as hard as they can, but there are still a lot of roads to clear," Scarice said Sunday afternoon.

Scarice said a decision about Tuesday will be made Monday after he is able to further assess the state of the roads with the help of town officials.

Other schools that are closed include The Country School in Madison, Madison Learning Center, Temple Beth Tikvah Nursery School in Madison, Montessori School-Madison, and Shoreline Christian School in Madison. Public schools in Clinton, Guilford and other surrounding towns are closed as well.

I'm sure the senior center is a priority. Removing snow from the streets isn't. Just like the DOT this morning that had 2 trucks and a payloader cleaning the commuter parking lot; whereas Rt 79 north of the circle is only 1 lane

Great our kids will be in school until July at this rate! I say let's cancel Feb vacation next week!

Tough to cancel next week, many people have plans in place already, but maybe some of April vacation will get cut. We still have two more days left in June that can be added on, and I believe by law school has to be done by July 1st.

From experience people will still take their kids out whether it is vacation or not. I wish we could switch weeks as well.

Schools closed tomorrow as well.
