Interim Superintendent Expected to Be Appointed Tonight

The board of education is expected to hear a nomination and vote on a new interim superintendent tonight.

The board of education announced yesterday that it will hold a special meeting tonight at L.P. Wilson. According to the meeting agenda, the board will discuss and appoint an interim superintendent.

Board of Education President Rusty Peck refrained from releasing any details in relation to the identity of the interim on Tuesday night, saying "I've been telling everyone that I can neither confirm nor deny who it will be."

Peck continued by saying that a nomination will likely be made, followed by a motion and a seconded motion, which will be followed by a vote.

If the motion to approve the nomination of the individual nominated passes, the board will officially appoint an interim for current Superintendent Elizabeth Feser's position, which will be vacated in April.

Following Feser's acceptance of an offer to become the head of Milford's school system, she stressed the importance of finding an interim soon enough to allow for collaboration and a smooth transition.
