The Poquonock School Personal Best Fest

Windsor’s Poquonock School will kick off the fun of summer a few weeks early when it hosts “The Poquonock Personal Best Fest” end-of-year picnic for all past and current school students, families and staff. The free event will be held on Monday, June 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the elementary school’s lawn and playground at 1760 Poquonock Ave. (Since most of the activities will take place outdoors, a rain date is set for Wednesday, June 6).

“Anyone who has ever attended or worked at Poquonock School can come bring a picnic dinner and a lawn blanket or chair, and we will provide the dessert,” explains R.J. Sullivan, Principal of Poquonock School.” Our school-wide celebration will include a variety of fun activities, including face painting, and a deejay with music will entertain our guests and their families. In addition, all past and present Poquonock School students and staff will receive a special commemorative gift to remember their years here.”

During the event, the school will be open and guests can tour the building. A brief outdoor welcoming ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m.

“This end-of-year celebration is particularly special because when Poquonock School opens its doors in August, it will no longer be a Grade 1-5 school, and instead become one of two Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 2 schools in the district, adds Sullivan. “Our picnic celebration will be a huge reunion where Poquonock School family from past and present can join together for memories and a great time.”

Windsor residents are requested to phone ahead and make a reservation to attend “Poquonock's Personal Best Fest” by calling Poquonock School at (860) 687-2080.
