District Takes Familiar Route to New Superintendent

The district recently announced the hiring of a familiar firm to help find a new superintendent.

The Windsor Public School district has contracted the same search firm hired in 2011 to replace former Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Feser.

This time, the district is looking to find a permanent replacement for former Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Villar, who is now the executive director Connecticut Council for Education Reform.

The firm hired by the district is the New England School Development Council (NESDEC), the district announced recently.

Board of education members will specifically work with NESDEC's Dr. Joseph L. Wood to find suitable candidates for the vacancy.

Dr. Craig Cooke was installed as the district's interim superintendent prior to Villar's departure.

Cooke previously served as the district's human resource director.
