BOE Leadership to be Elected Tonight

The board of education will meet at 7 p.m. at Town Hall Council Chambers.

After the municipal election of Nov. 8, the ballot recanvass that followed and , residents will finally see some things set in stone Tuesday night when the board meets to elect its leadership for the next two years.

According to board documents, the board will elect its president, vice president, secretary and announce its minority leader.

Traditionally, the highest vote-getter has been appointed president of the board.

Rusty Peck was the highest vote-getter among all board candidates in the recent election. Peck has served on the board since 2005.

Doreen Richardson was the second-highest vote-getter, followed by Darleen Klase.

Previous leadership positions were as follows:

President - Rusty Peck

Vice President - Christopher Watts

Secretary - Doreen Richardson

Minority Leader - Paul Panos
