Board of Ed To Accept Two Resignations Tonight, Announce Teacher of the Year

One democrat and one republican are stepping down.

The Board of Education is expected to accept the resignation of two board members tonight during a board meeting in Town Hall Council Chambers.

Vice President of the Board Christopher McAuliffe (D) has submitted his letter of resignation in addition to republican board member David Gay, who is moving out of town, according to the Republican Town Committee.

Republicans Kristan Ingram and Patricia Di Giore were endorsed last week by the Republican Town Committee and will both run for Town Council in addition to Paul Panos, Cristina Santos and Howard Jubrey, each of whom currently serve on the board.

Either Ingram or Giore would look to fill Gay's spot on the Board in the fall.

The Board of Education will present a number of awards tonight, including teacher of the year, which will be awarded to Windsor High School Physics Teacher Joseph Mancino.
