Voting results by District with analysis.

In reviewing the results the District #7 or "Rainbow" came out 76% against the budget, or 206 more NO than YES votes. The NO vote difference overall was 634. So Rainbow represented less than 1/3rd of the NO vote difference. There were more total votes cast in District 2, 5 and 6, so Rainbow can’t be blamed. So the idea that Rainbow was the issue is misguided. That is not where the problem was. District #3 is the only district to vote for the budget by a very slim 1% margin. District #1 was a tie. District #2 voted NO by 4%, the smallest NO margin. District 4, 5, and 6 all voted 64% against the budget. I would believe the majority is unfortunately going to try to blame a small group of voters for the result, yes in 5 out of 7 districts the Nays had it and said: control spending. However if you want to believe Mr. Williams of the BoE in his testimony before the Council as reported by Mr. Slate [http://windsor.patch.com/groups/r-elevelds-blog/p/the-boe-is-influencing... there were other messages in the NO vote, and that however is pure conjecture. I think others can delve into those ideas and discussions. Now it is the majority that has to craft a budget. The question is will they be punitive in their actions showing that because the voters did not agree with their spending ideas they will attempt to exact publicly noticeable cuts to say: ‘We told you so’. Like a petulant child not getting their way. I should not have to remind the reader that almost 70% of the overall budget is ensconced in Education related spending. I certainly hope that the majority will work with the minority and craft an acceptable budget and remember in the calculations that the majority’s Governor and Legislators will be sending additional money only for education and adjust the numbers accordingly.
