Please Vote — Tuesday May 10th is referendum day in Windsor

Vote on the budget referendum May 10

Tomorrow (Tuesday May 10th) is referendum day in Windsor.  Please Vote!

The voters and property owners will have a right to express there approval or disapproval of the budget as presented.

I will not tell you how to vote, others have... and I agree with some and disagree with others.

My silence is an answer.  I voted in favor of the budget, however I will let the taxpayers decide, which is their right.

I will say that I have a concern that the State will not fulfill its obligation to Windsor and that should scare every taxpayer!

That all set aside, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to vote tomorrow, and please take the 5 mintues and let your voice be heard!

There is a clear and present danger that the state will not fulfill its promise to the town. Malloy's labor negotiators have been meeting with union leaders for over two months. To date THERE IS NO DEAL to report. However, even if a deal were reached with the union’s leadership the settlement would not mean the state budget is suddenly fixed. Malloy will still need to persuade unionized rank-and-file state employees to ratify any agreement, and that my friend is a tall order.

I think it's interesting that the Governor started to pull the trigger on his Plan B option today by sending out over 4,700 layoff notices. In that Plan B option is a 50% cut to PILOT funds as well as other cuts to town aid.

A 50% cut to PILOT funds as well as other cuts to town aid is precisely the reason why I remain hopeful that the budget was defeated.
