The town of Windsor is reminding Windsor residents that supplemental motor vehicle taxes will be considered delinquent if not received by Mon., Feb. 3.

The town considers taxes due on Jan. 1, but payable by Feb. 3.

Supplemental motor vehicle tax bills are required for any newly-registered vehicle after Oct. 1, 2012.

Taxpayers can pay on the town's website or directly at www.officialpayments.com, or at the tax collector's office in town hall at 275 Broad Street.

There should be a date range in this article. Not all newly registered vehicles after Oct. 1, 2012 will have a supplemental bill due. For example, I believe that if a vehicle was bought in August 2013 or September 2013, the tax liability does not start until the October 2013 Grand List and that payment will be the regular tax payment first due in July 2014.

I moved to town in April. Do we get a bill? I paid all the other taxes to town. If we don't read the Patch!! how do we know these things?

To Rose Nick: If in doubt, contact the Tax Collector's office at Town Hall. Here is the section on the Town website that refers to the issue: http://www.townofwindsorct.com/announcements.php?id=223.
