Windsor Residents to Learn What Makes Windsor Go

Registration for the Windsor Citizen's Academy is open until Wednesday.

Ever wonder exactly what happens when a Windsor residents dials 9-1-1? How about, what your tax money is used for at the local Fire Company? Windsor residents will have the opportunity to learn the answers to those questions first hand while enrolled in Windsor's Citizen's Academy, which begins Wed. Sept., 21.

The seven-week program gives residents an inside look at the day-to-day operations of Windsor's government.

Set to meet on each Thursday, the group will meet at a different town facility each week and "go behind the scenes," said Town Manager Peter Souza.

To date, 90 residents have completed the program, which is free of charge.

Anyone over the age of 18, and living or working in town are welcome to register.

The first meeting will be held on Wednesday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. in Town Hall Council Chambers.
