Windsor Residents Rally; Mayor Nominated Unanimously

One week after Windsor Democrats' nominating committee failed to support Mayor Don Trinks for re-election, the town committee reversed course.

Trinks was nominated in a floor motion made at the town committee's regular meeting Thursday, and he was approved unanimously by those in attendance.

Trinks was welcomed at town hall Thursday night by dozens of Windsor residents, holding signs, braving the rain and urging attending Democrats to "Vote for Don."

Trinks said the show of support was "almost overwhelming."

"I love the town; I just want to continue serving for a couple more years," he said.
