Windsor Polls Open for Third Try at Budget

A budget representing a .54 percent tax increase will be sent to referendum Tuesday.

Polls will be open Tues., June 25 from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m., allowing Windsor residents to show their support or shoot down a budget approved by the town council.

Voters have the opportunity to vote on a $100.75 million spending plan — a figure reached through the elimination of more than $1.3 million from Town Manager Peter Souza's proposed budget.

The budget at referendum represents a .54 percent tax increase from what residents are paying now.

The spending plan the town council was originally presented represented a 3.18 percent tax increase.
