Windsor Memorial Day Parade Slated for Monday

The Town of Windsor will observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 27 with two ceremonies and a parade.

The first ceremony will begin at 8 a.m. at Elm Grove Cemetery in Poquonock, followed by a second ceremony at 9 a.m. at Veteran's Cemetery, according to a post on the Town's Web site.

A parade, led by 2013 Memorial Day Parade Marshal and Windsor resident Dana Joseph Gagne, of the United States Marine Corps, is expected to enter town at approximately 9:45 Monday morning, and will conclude with a flag ceremony by Windsor Boy Scout Troop #149.

The public is invited to line the streets along the parade route to honor America’s service men and women.

Those wishing to march in the parade are asked to meet at the corner of East and Pleasant Street around 8:30 a.m.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Town Council Chambers at 10 a.m. Monday.
