Windsor Dems Give Mayor Trinks Cold Shoulder

Trinks has been the council's highest vote-getter for the past six municipal elections.

At a recent meeting, the Windsor Democratic Town Committee decided against nominating Mayor Don Trinks for a seventh term, The Hartford Courant reports.

Trinks told The Courant, he was "shocked," as no explanation was provided to him as to why he was not nominated.

According to The Courant's report, members of the town committee feel Trinks, who has been the council's highest vote-getter for over a decade, "has not supported the Windsor school system and the board of education."

Additionally, The Courant quoted Democratic Town Councilor Bill Herzfeld as saying, ""We're looking for someone more progressive."
