Voter Registration Sessions Are Being Held Saturday in Windsor Locks and East Windsor

Registrars of Voters across Connecticut are holding special sessions Saturday.

If you have not yet registered to vote in next month’s election, registrars of voters across Connecticut will be holding sessions Saturday.

The latest voter registration report  from the Secretary of  the State’s office, the first since Sept. 25,  showed that 130,000 new voters have registered so far this election year, including 45,625 new Democrats and 23,379 new Republicans.

In East Windsor registrations have been running at a brisk pace, Linda Sinsigallo, Republican Registrar of Voters, said. A lot of the new voters are unaffiliated, Sinsigallo said.

“We are very busy,” Sinsigallo said.

Democrats out register Republicans 2 to 1 in East Windsor, Sinsigallo said.

As for absentee ballots, Town Clerk Joanne Slater said earlier this week her office had received more than 200.  In the 2008 presidential election, there were 336 absentee ballots filed

“I expect to have at least that,” Slater said.

In East Windsor, you can register in the town hall annex, 25 School Street  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Windsor Locks the Registrars will hold a special voter registration session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in town hall, 50 Church Street.

I understand that some incorrect absentee ballots have been sent out to folks from East Windsor, the confusion stemming from being part of redistricting. If you received an absentee ballot, please double check before submitting to make sure it is the correct one for your address - 57th district or 59th district. If you aren't sure which district you are now in, please call Town Hall as soon as possible.
