Town Council to Take Third Stab at Budget

Windsor's town budget has been rejected by voters twice at referendum. Council members now prepare to make another round of cuts.

Budget cuts will be on on the table again Wednesday night when the Windsor town council returns to council chambers during a special meeting.

The meeting has been called for the purpose of budget deliberations one week after the town council's adopted budget was rejected at referendum for the second time this budget season.

The budget voted down on June 4 represented a spending increase of just under two percent.

That budget was voted down by a vote of 1,456 to 1,291.

The turnout was lower than the previous referendum on May 18, during which voters rejected the budget by a 1,798 to 1,164.

The council's meeting will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday.
