Storm Debris Cleanup 35 - 45% Complete

Town officials estimate all streets will be reached by December 9.

About 200,000 cubic yards of debris from October's snow storm have been collected from Windsor streets, amounting to approximately 35 to 45 percent of the work that must be done.

To date, the town has spent upwards of $200,000 on cleanup efforts, the bulk of which is to be paid with Butler, Co., which took over duties after C&C Logging assisted in the early hours of storm cleanup.

According to Town Manager Peter Souza, who delivered his town manager's report Monday evening, town officials estimate paying Butler, Co. about $550,000 by December 9.

December 9 has been established by the town as the estimated date of completion for storm debris cleanup.

While crews are currently making their first thorough sweep of town roads, a second sweep will take place in early December, according to Souza.

While the town's response to October's snowstorm could cost just shy of $1 million, 70 percent of all costs could be refunded due to the town's eligibility for financial assistance provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and .
