Patch's Poll: Who Will Win the 2012 Presidential Election, Obama or Romney?

Now that the Democratic and Republican delegates have officially chosen their nominees, Patch wants to know: Who are you betting on?

It's official: With President Barack Obama's acceptance speech in Charlotte Thursday night, both the Republicans and Democrats have formally chosen their nominees for the 2012 presidential election. Let the real race begin.

A lot can change between now and November 6; gaffes, scandals or even major international news events could shift the dynamics of the campaign.

The latest Gallup Polls show registered voters preferring Obama to Mitt Romney by just one percentage point, 47 percent to 46 percent. A USA Today/Gallup poll taken just before the party conventions found American voters think Obama is more likeable, but trust Romney more to handle the economy.

Pundits have been busy for months handicapping the major-party candidates on various factors: incumbent advantage, fundraising clout, even religion.

Patch wants to know: Regardless of who you support for President, who do you think will actually claim victory in November?

Vote in our poll below, and let us know your reasoning in the comments.

Let's be real, President Obama is talking about helping everyone in America. He want's all American to have a better life. Mitt Romney, is telling American he will only take care of the rich. If you are middle class or poor in America and vote for Romney you are totally devoid of any common sense.

If you are undecided, or planning to vote for Obama, see the movie "2016: Obama's America" and you will know why Barack Obama's wants a DIMINISHED USA. www.2016themovie.com/theaters/ (over 20 theaters in CT) You will also understand why most of what he said last night is the exact opposite of what Obama believes--that he believes in "the collective" rather than rugged American individualism! Did you notice that he actually said the words "Providence" and "Endowed by our Creator," which latter he has heretofore refused to utter when citing the "Declaration of Independence"? That was part of his massive deceit again last night, as O really believes in "One nation under Obama," with UNLIMITED power for him!!! As in unrestrained by anything in the U.S. Constitution, by Congress, or by "We the People." Obama's "greatest hoax ever perpetrated upon the American people" was to get elected, as a totally unprepared "community organizer" whom well-intentioned (but uninformed) voters put all their "hopes" on to be the "change" he promised in his oratory in 2008. Those "hopes" have been completely dashed by an unqualified masked man. "2016: The Movie" takes off that "mask" Obama wears! Americans are waking up, and are going to vote in "America's Comeback Team" of Romney/Ryan!!!

It is the Electoral College that decides who takes the oval office, right now Obama has a commanding 47 point lead. All the commercials, movies or dollars spent will not close that gap.

My word WC, Where did you ever come up with obama having a "commanding 47 point lead"? You better scroll up and read this article again. Do you plan to vote? If so, I hope you have better facts and information to base your vote on. David @ Patch. Why can't you make it so people have to use their names when expressing opinions?

Gary, Yes in the popular vote Obama is ahead 5% in various swing states, but it is the Electoral College that selects the President, the Electoral College is now favoring President Obama by over 47 points. It seems every presidential election the electorate gets worked up about the popular vote and fails to understand how we select a president.
