New Web Site to Help Veterans, Employers Connect

Site is a one-stop shop for a multitude of veterans' services.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman and state Department of Labor Commissioner Glenn Marshall announced the launch of a new Web site last week that seeks to bring military veterans together with employers interested  in hiring them.

The site, located at www.ctvets.org and called “HIRE VETS FIRST! Services to Employers,” was developed to help the state’s veterans, many of whom have difficulty finding employment when their military service is over.

“Our military men and women deserve our support both when they are in uniform and when they return home,” Wyman said. “This Web site will be a very effective tool in helping our veterans use their skills to support themselves and their families.”

Marshall said the Web site is designed to enhance current outreach efforts by his department.

“This Web site will complement the work of our Office for Veterans' Workforce Development staff — all veterans themselves — who will assist servicemen and women from all branches of the military transition back to civilian life,” Marshall said.
