Lennon Criticizes State Aid, Calls Out Coleman

The republican state senate candidate says state aid, if approved, would benefit the Connecticut Communist Party.

Windsor resident and republican candidate for state senate Malvi Lennon recently called into question state aid scheduled to be considered by the State Bond Commission June 4.

A $300,000 aid package, if approved, would go towards the renovation of a building that houses the Connecticut Communist Party, Lennon says.

"As a taxpayer, I am outraged. When our state government gives tax dollars to a communist organization while decent people lose their homes because they are out of work, and cannot find a job, it is an affront to every citizen," Malvi says of the aid intended for the restoration of an "historical building," which houses a number of organization in addition to the Communist Party, including New Haven Peoples Center.

Lennon is now calling on State Senator Eric Coleman (Windsor, Bloomfield) to "break rank with his governor... and publicly condemn such a reprehensible expenditure."

"Coleman cannot be silent as Malloy takes money away from single moms, the elderly and gives it to the Communist Party," Lennon adds. "Enough is enough. Senator Coleman needs to fight for the people and stop obeying his party leaders."
