Windsor Meeting to Explore Repeal of Connecticut's Death Penalty

A public gathering and discussion on how Connecticut's death penalty was repealed will take place Tuesday, May 29, at 7 pm.

The event is a special meeting of Windsor's Drinking Liberally and is open to the public. Speakers will discuss the advocacy and organizing campaign that resulted in Governor Dannel Malloy signing the bill last month. The multi-year effort involved hundreds of advocates from around the state and the country.

Speakers will include State Senator Eric Coleman, D-Bloomfield; Rep. Gary Holder-Winfield, D-New Haven; Hilary Carpenter and Ben Jones, CT Network to Abolish the Death Penalty; and other CNADP Board members and advocates. They'll share lessons learned and insights for the future.
