Windsor Superintendent, Police Chief to Meet Mid-Week

The pair are set to review school safety and discuss further measures to ensure a safe environment for Windsor students.

The meeting announced between Superintendent of Windsor School Dr. Jeffrey Villar and Windsor Police Chief Kevin Searles to address safety in Windsor Public Schools is scheduled to take place "mid-week," according to district spokeswoman Laura Soll.

Searles said Dec. 14 he received a call from Villar just hours after reports of 26 students and school staff murdered in Newtown's Sandy Hook Elementary School were released.

According to Searles, he and Villar will review current safety measures in Windsor Schools, which currently require visitors to use a buzzing and intercom system to gain entry into buildings, and will discuss strategies for increased security.
