Windsor Resident Charged with Possession of Child Pornography

David Gesnaldo was held on $25,000 bond.

Windsor resident David Gesnaldo was arrested and charged with second-degree possession of child pornography, a class-C felony, on Sept. 2, according to Windsor Police.

Police took the 55-year-old Walnut Drive resident into custody after a technician who worked on Gesnaldo computer complaint filed a complaint, according to Windsor Police Captain Tom LePore.

LePore said Gesnaldo called the computer tech and asked him to fix the computer at the Walnut Drive house. In the process of reviewing the computer, the unidentified technician found "a number of files on his hard drive" that appeared to be "a picture of a pre-teen child performing sexual activities." Soon after the technician filed a complaint to the police station.

The Windsor detective's unit investigated the complaint and obtained a search warrant, which officers executed on Sept. 2, LePore said.

According to LePore, officers interviewed Gesnaldo and he "gave a full confession in a statement" to Windsor police.

LePore said that the detectives' investigation uncovered "more than 2,000 images and video files of suspected child pornography — children under the age of 16 engaged in sexual acts with their genitalia exposed."

Gesnaldo was also charged with possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, LePore said.

The charge of second-degree possession of child pornography carries a penalty of one to 10 years and a fine of up to $10,000.
