Windsor Resident Charged with Diverting Money from Local VFW Post

Cameron West, 31, was arrested Wednesday.

A Windsor man is facing numerous charges following his arrest Wednesday in connection with diverting nearly $4,000 from a Newington Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post.

Cameron West, 31, is accused of spending thousands of dollars from the bank account of VFW Post 9836 to pay cellphone bills and other personal expenses, the Hartford Courant reports.

He is charged with five counts of sixth-degree larceny, one count of fifth-degree larceny, one count of third-degree larceny and one count of third-degree identity theft, according to the state judicial Web site.

West is being held on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear July 29 in New Britain Superior Court.
