Police: Windsor Man Left Wallet Behind After Forging Check at Store

Windsor resident Irvin Adams, 34, was charged on Nov. 14 with forgery in the second degree, criminal attempt to commit forgery in the second degree and larceny in the sixth degree.

A Windsor man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly left his wallet and identification behind when he passed a counterfeit check at the Stop & Shop in South Windsor, according to police.

Irvin Adams, 34, was charged on Nov. 14 at Manchester Superior Court with forgery in the second degree, criminal attempt to commit forgery in the second degree and larceny in the sixth degree. He was held at court, where he was facing additional, unrelated charges, on $50,000 bond and was presented later in the day.

Adams’ charges stem from an August 2012 fraudulent check investigation, police say.

After he allegedly left his identification and wallet behind at the store, Adams was located by officers and he admitted that he used a fraudulent check that was printed by a friend of his, according to police.  

An arrest warrant was later obtained for Adams and served at court Wednesday morning.
