Three More Victims, New Charges in Windsor Doctor Case

Njoku was apprehended by police Saturday, and charged with new sexual assault charges involving three victims.

Out on bond after being charged with raping a patient in his office, Dr. Edwin Njoku was taken into custody again Sat., April 28, NBC Connecticut reports, being charged with first-degree attempted sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault and larceny.

According to NBC's report, the charges involve three new victims, and took place in the doctor's East Hartford office.

On January 31, , and charged with first-degree sexual assault, fourth-degree sexual assault, attempting to bribe a witness, first-degree unlawful restraint and sexual contact without consent.

Following the doctor's arrest in January, Windsor Police Captain Tom LePore said no complaints had come into the doctor about services at his Poquonock Avenue office.

That office has since been closed and the building has been placed on the market.

Until his arrest on Saturday, he was free, having posted a total of $825,000 bond.

In March, , claiming Njoku gave her a drug cocktail and told her he would have to be the first person to have intercourse with her after he performed her surgery.
