Suspicious Windsor Death Ruled a Homicide

Police say the 87-year-old victim died from a gunshot wound to the head.

A suspicious death Windsor Police began investigating Dec. 20 has been ruled a homicide, Windsor Police said.

According to police, the victim was identified as 87-year-old John Chakalos.

Chakalos, who was found in his home at 52 Overlook Drive, died from a gunshot wound to the head, police said, citing the Chief Medical Examiner's report.

Chakalos was found by a family member.

Windsor police said the investigation is continuing, and the department is being assisted by the Connecticut State Police Central Major Crime Squad.
