Suspected Windsor Taxi Robber Enters Plea

Police say Laron Frank fired a gunshot while attempting to rob a taxi in Windsor.

The man Windsor police say fired a gun while attempting to rob a taxi driver has pleaded not guilty to all charges filed against him, according to court documents.

Frank was charged with two counts of first-degree attempted robbery, two counts of criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, one count of carrying a pistol without a permit and one count of second-degree threatening.

Bail was set at $750,000 and Frank remains in custody, court documents say.

Windsor police say Frank was picked up by the cab in Hartford with a destination in Windsor, but pulled out a gun en route and demanded cash from the driver.

The driver, who was not injured when Frank fired a gunshot in the cab, eventually stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Route 218 and Interstate 291 in Windsor, enabling Frank to exit the vehicle, police said.
