Suspected Windsor Taxi Robber Enters Plea

Police say Laron Frank fired a gunshot while attempting to rob a taxi in Windsor.

The man Windsor police say fired a gun while attempting to rob a taxi driver has pleaded not guilty to all charges filed against him, according to court documents.

Frank was charged with two counts of first-degree attempted robbery, two counts of criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, one count of carrying a pistol without a permit and one count of second-degree threatening.

Bail was set at $750,000 and Frank remains in custody, court documents say.

Windsor police say Frank was picked up by the cab in Hartford with a destination in Windsor, but pulled out a gun en route and demanded cash from the driver.

The driver, who was not injured when Frank fired a gunshot in the cab, eventually stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Route 218 and Interstate 291 in Windsor, enabling Frank to exit the vehicle, police said.

Frank was apprehended by local authorities within an hour.

He is due to appear in Hartford Superior Court on November 2.
