State Troopers, Local Law Enforcement Recognized for Actions During Windsor Incident

Award winners received medals and certificates from Commissioner Reuben F. Bradford and State Police Colonel Danny R. Stebbins for their actions during a February traffic stop in Windsor.

Connecticut State Police Troopers, first responders and civilians recently received awards for service during a ceremony at the Connecticut State Police Training Academy in Meriden.

Trooper Matthew Herz, Trooper Mathieu Asselin, Trooper Sean Mikeal, Hartford Police Det. Daniel Blumes and Manchester Police Officer Chris Morrissey were among those honored June 3 for their "quick and alert thinking" during a February 17 traffic stop on Route 91 in Windsor that resulted in the capture of a wanted criminal, according to police.

Troopers Asselin and Mikeal, Det. Blumes, and Officer Morrissey earned a Medal for Outstanding Service, while Trooper Herz earned a Medal for Meritorious Service.
