Police: Windsor Woman Stole Thousands in Unemployment

A Windsor woman has been charged with stealing nearly $30,000 in unemployment benefits over a five year period.

A Windsor woman has been charged with stealing nearly $30,000 in unemployment benefits, according to a Hartford Courant report.

The paper reports, 29-year-old Latysha Atmore was charged with "two counts of first-degree larceny, second-degree larceny, three counts of unemployment compensation fraud, four counts of attempted second-degree larceny, attempted unemployment compensation fraud, first-degree identity theft and third-degree identity theft."

According to the Courant, Atmore managed to allegedly steal $27,809 in benefits "by using different Social Security numbers to collect benefits" between July 2008 and May 2013.
