Windsor Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a man suspected of stealing cash from the Windsor Avenue CVS' cash register Wednesday night.
According to police, a Hispanic male (pictured to right) stood in the line at CVS and attempted to purchase a Snickers bar, but left the line after learning the candy bar cost more than $1.
Saying he was leaving to retrieve change from his car, the man then reentered the store and asked to be directed to the candy that costs less than $1, according to police.
The suspect then presented the cashier with a bag of Fireballs and $1, police said.
At that point, according to police, the cashier opened the cash register and the suspect hopped on top of the counter, reached into the open cash drawer and grabbed about $100 in cash.
The suspect ran from the store and was last seen heading east across the parking, police said.
According to police, the cashier was not harmed and no weapons were used in the alleged theft.
Police describe the suspect as standing 5'6'' tall with a thin build, black hair and clean shaven.
Those with information regarding the suspect's identity or whereabouts are urged to contact the Windsor Police Department by calling 860-688-5273, extension 521.
