New Details Revealed in Watts Case

The Orlando Sentinel reports Watts was under the impression he was in negotiations with the father of a 14-year-old girl.

The Orlando Sentinel has reported that Windsor Board of Education member Christopher Watts was under the impression he had arranged a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl through the girl's father.

Watts was taken into custody Friday in Florida, and charged with attempting to entice a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity via the internet, the United States Attorney's office said.

It was allegedly on Motherless.com that Watts had arranged a sexual encounter with a father of a young girl, who was actually an undercover law enforcement officer investigating the website, the Sentinel reports.

The United States Attorney's office said Watts responded to a post titled "dad has daughter."

The post was located in chat rooms labeled "incest" and "jailbait," according to the Sentinel.

A search warrant was executed at his home in Windsor Friday.

NBC Connecticut reported Friday that criminal complaint documents filed in Florida say Watts told officers he has had a history of viewing sexually explicit videos and images involving children.

The Orlando Sentinal has also reported that Watts said he had figured out that he was talking to an undercover agent and had no intention of following through with the arrangement during his trip to Florida, which, he said, was previously scheduled for him to buy a truck.

Watts also told officers that he deleted his account, has a "track record of doing the right thing" and is "finished with underage talk and photos for good," the Sentinel reported.
