Medical Board Suspends Windsor Doctor in Wake of Sexual Assault Charges
Dr. Njoku's medical license has been suspended by the state Medical Examining Board.
Connecticut's Medical Examining Board suspended the license of Edwin Njoku Friday, days after sexual assault charges were filed against the doctor for an incident that occurred in his East Hartford office, according to WFSB.

WFSB reported Friday that the Connecticut Department of Public Health requested the suspension of Njoku's license "until a full hearing is held on the criminal charges he faces."

Njoku was charged with first-degree sexual assault, two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault, bribery of a witness and unlawful restraint in the first degree.
He posted bond Thursday morning and was released from custody, according to East Hartford police.

East Hartford Police Lt. Curt Stoldt said Thursday that his office has received about 23 complaints regarding Njoku since the initial charges were filed, but the police department has yet to complete investigations into the claims to determine their legitimacy.
