Man Sentenced in Windsor Murder

Marqz Robotham pleaded guilty to murdering Allison Owen in broad daylight at a Windsor Federal Savings in 2010.

Marqz Robotham was sentenced to 25 years in prison Friday, appearing in Hartford Superior Court two months after , Courant.com reports.

Robotham stabbed Owen, his ex-girlfriend and classmate at Windsor High School, in broad daylight at the Windsor Federal Savings branch in Wilson.

Several witnesses saw the murder take place in the bank's parking lot.

Since his arrest that same April 2010 day at his grandparents' house, covered in blood, Robotham has remained in custody, held on $1 million bond.

According to Courant.com, Robotham admitted to planning the murder of Owen, who had recently broken up with him.

A part of his confession was read in court, Courant.com reports, detailing the 20-year-old's recognition of the extent of damage he had committed when he stabbed Owen 14 times.

Owen was 18 years old.

Both she and Robotham were 2009 graduates of Windsor High School.
