Fatal Accident Shuts Down Rt. 20 in East Granby
Police say a single vehicle struck a utility pole, CL&P on the scene

State police have stated that the driver, a woman, of the vehicle has died. Lt. Paul Vance of the state police said that a press release is forthcoming.
Route 20 has been reopened and the initial investigation is complete. The accompanying photo shows the damage caused by the accident, which sheared the utility pole in two.

An accident on the border of Granby and East Granby has temporarily shut down the section of Rte. 20 between Canal Road and Newgate Road, according to an East Granby police spokesperson.
A vehicle struck a utility pole on Rt. 20 in East Granby around 11:30 a.m., leading the road to be closed, according East Granby police officer Jeremy Powell. The road is expected to be open by 2:30 p.m., said Powell.
Representatives from Connecticut Light & Power were on the scene, Powell said. Members of the Granby police department at the Connecticut state troopers also were at the scene.
