The Florida mother has been found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

In what came as a surprising verdict to some, Casey Anthony has been found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008, according to multiple news sources.

According to the Huffington Post, Anthony, 25, of Florida, was found not guilty of killing Caylee, of aggravated child abuse and of aggravated manslaughter of a child. She was convicted on charges of misleading law enforcement, according to the Huffington Post article.

The trial against Anthony, of Florida, took 33 days and saw 400 pieces of evidence and more than 90 witnesses. The jury deliberated for less than one day, according to national media outlets.

According to the New York Times, the panel of seven women and five men decided that Anthony did not murder Caylee, as prosecutors claimed.

According to the New York Times, the defense had argued from the start that Caylee drowned accidentally in the family swimming pool.

Caylee was last seen June 16, a 2008 the New York Times said. Casey Anthony did not report her daughter's disappearance for a month; the girl's body was found in December 2008, according to the story.

Casey Anthony will be sentenced Thursday morning on the charges of giving fasle statements to police, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
