Windsor Trio Charged in ATM Fraud

Police apprehended the suspects on High Path Road, Monday.

Three Windsor residents were taken into custody Monday morning when police served arrest warrants on High Path Road for alleged ATM and check fraud.

According to Windsor Police Capt. Tom LePore, Windsor residents Daquan Adams, 20, Zena Davenport-Streeter, 21 (both of High Path Road), and Kevin Tobias, 40, of Berriors Hill Road, were taken into custody following a two-month investigation.

Police began the investigation after receiving a complaint of check fraud from an alleged victim of the trio, LePore said.

According to police, the suspects deposited multiple stolen checks into ATMs in Windsor and Bloomfield, including the .

Police said the checks were deposited into Tobias' account, and withdrawals were made once they cleared.

The total amount taken was "just shy of $1,000," said LePore.

LePore did not specify a motive for the alleged larceny, saying it may never be known what the suspects intended to use the money for.
