FREE & NEW program in town!

The Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program is a free, voluntary program that is federally funded for prenatal mothers, fathers and their children. The program is designed to support parents prenatally until their child is five years old by offering weekly home visits to provide parent education and guidance. The MIECHV promotes maternal and child health in order to foster child development during the critical early years of learning and life. Because the MIECHV program focuses on the well being of the entire family, there is a fatherhood component that allows fathers to bond with a male figure to provide the guidance that the traditional home visitors provide the mothers and children. The fatherhood component focuses on the transition into parenthood and a father’s new role with their child. Home visitors help families identify long term goals relating to parenting and case management needs by using evidence based parenting curriculum: “Parents As Teachers”.” This strength based approach supports parents that want to strengthen their relationship with their children.
