Education-an issue for America

People need to come together and force elected officials to our will, not the other way around.  (the majority) Education is an issue for the country and every year that goes by not only does it harm the children and their future -but they are our future-the future of each and every one of us.  If kids cannot read, lets not waste time and money on why that is such as seeking an issue that takes the focus off of education, just focus on teaching them to read. We need to bring back common sense for Pete's sake.  Back when someone decided to teach reading via memorizing a word and doing away with phonics, having kids lay around on the floor in bean bags where there was no longer structure in the day was the beginning of where we are today.  This is a nationwide problem brought about by teaching to a test and Common Core ideas.  We have teachers in some towns cheating on tests for their own benefit due to ridiculous mandates.  Let's stop the madness and get back to teaching.  VOTE and push for change.
