If You Build It…They Will Come

A new television studio for Windsor residents

One of my favorite movies is Field of Dreams, with Kevin Costner. An Iowa farmer, facing financial trouble, he hears voices that compel him to build a beautiful baseball field. He had faith that once he build something that meant something, people would come-- and people would want to be a part of it.

You’re way ahead of me here, aren’t you? You see where I’m going with this.

Although WIN-TV wasn’t born in the 1980’s under such dramatic circumstances, the prevailing theme is similar: build something that means something and people will come and want to be a part of it.

Over the last year, WIN-TV has done just that. Using a $27,000 grant awarded from the State of Connecticut, WIN-TV purchased equipment to allow us to be a fully-functioning, 3 camera studio for the first time ever! We have a new control room, computer character generator, communication headsets cameras, editing computers and field equipment all here for you to use for FREE.

We have classes scheduled all throughout the spring for Studio, Directing, Field Production and Editing. Don’t have time for classes but still want to learn? We can arrange for a private 1 hour certification on our equipment so that you can get on the road to learn all there is to learn about television production and producing your own show.

Visit our web site at www.win-tv.org and see what we have to offer. WIN-TV is YOUR TV station, and we want to teach you to share your interests and stories with everyone in the Windsor community.

We’ve built it… so come on down to our “field of dreams” and become a part of it.
