WRCH Radio Personality Bikes To Battle MS

Lisa Gerrol, of West Hartford, poses with Rocky Hill resident Mike Stacy, host of  Allan, Mike and Allison on 100.5 WRCH, and his son, Jacob Stacy, as they get ready to ride the 2013 Bike MS: Red Thread Ride+Steelcase Ride, in Windsor. Gerrol is president of the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter. Mike Stacy, captain of the Banana Bike Team, has participated in the ride for 23 years. To date, the 10-person team has raised $3,400 of a $5,000 goal. Funds raised ensure ongoing scientific research to find a cure for multiple sclerosis, a potentially debilitating disease. Funds also provide for vital programs and services offered by the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter, to the more than 6,000 residents in the state living with multiple sclerosis. More than 400 cyclists saddled up for Bike MS on Sunday, June 2. To date, the event has raised $371,000 of a $539,000 goal, with one more ride to occur in Westport on Sunday, June 9. Fundraising for prizes continues through July 12.  For more information on Bike MS: Red Thread+Steelcase Ride, presented by Louis Dreyfus Commodities, to make a donation to the Banana Bike Team or to register for the Westport ride, visit www.ctfightsMS.org.
