Jewish Residents Cast Sins Away on Rosh Hashanah

Observers of the Jewish New Year stood on the banks of the Farmington River in Windsor Monday, casting their sins away.

Members of Windsor's Congregation Beth Ahm gathered on the banks of the Farmington River Monday afternoon to partake in a traditional Tashlich ritual.

Following morning services at the Palisado Avenue temple, members congregated along the river banks to toss bread into the river, symbolizing a casting away of their sins on the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah.

Led by Rabbi Alan Lefkowitz, observers of all ages joined one another in song and prayer to mark the beginning of Rosh Hashan year 5773.
